With 38 years in the Oil & Gas industry, Steve has served in multiple roles, starting with a 22 year career at Texaco, where he started as a geophysicist, gradually moving into a special projects team where he developed some cutting-edge technologies, including the use of genetic programming and neural network programs for synthesizing sonic logs from other common log suites that could be used to calibrate 3D seismic attributes with well control points. Developed Texaco’s first application doing inversion for velocity structure of seismic profiles using computer-aided-tomography. Steve then moved into risk analysis consulting and analytics, traveling around the world for Decisioneering (and later, Oracle) whose product Crystal Ball, was a fixture for performing Monte Carlo simulation, time series forecasting, and optimization. Steve has since branched into Business Intelligence and analytics, programming R modules that drove Blue River Analytics EAW first software product. Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from Purdue University in 1980, MBA from University of Denver in 1996, and the designation Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA Society in 2006.

Allie graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Geology, and then studied at the University of Utah where she earned a Masters in Geology in 2014. Her work at the University of Utah focused on geocellular modeling of turbidite facies in Chilean Patagonia. That experience prepared her for working in the oil & gas industry, where she was able to apply her knowledge of reservoir characterization, and was also where she was first exposed to Spotfire. Since then, her years teaching introductory geology and petroleum geology at a small college gave her experience communicating technical material and teaching others how to use industry software packages such as Petra. Today, Allie is able to combine her teaching experience with her knowledge of Spotfire, which provides a great platform for her as a Spotfire educator.
Outside of all things Earth Science, Allie will usually be found rock climbing, mountain biking, or volunteering for her local Search and Rescue group in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains.
